Prayer Ministry The prayer ministry includes weekly prayer with the pastors every Tuesday at 7:30am as well as frequent church-wide prayer events such as Men's Prayer Breakfasts, 24 Hour Prayer Vigils, 40 Days of Prayer, August Heat and a Prayer Partner weekly email. Dennis Henry leads this minstry. Children's Minstry On Sunday mornings the 9:15am service staffs a traditional Sunday School and a dynamic Children's Church Service for the 11am Service. This provides rich child care for ages 1 month - 1st grade and Bible instructions and fun for kids 2nd through 5th grade. Middle Schoolers and up enjoy volunteering as helpers to the Sunday School teaching volunteers. Each summer we do an early evening VBS. Stephanie is the main contact. Administrative Support If you enjoy office and administrative work, contact Stephanie to help with the myriads of activities that keep the church current, contemporary and running smoothly. Many gifted volunteers are desired in areas such as finances, art layout, web development and clerical support. Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is an international ministry of www.samaritanspurse.org and a big deal at New Song. Each Christmas NS sends hundreds of shoeboxes filled with toys and valuable personal items to children in third world countries in great need. The gospel is also shared and often churches are started through these efforts. This is a year-round ministry lead by Lael, Susan and Jeff. Celebrate Recovery Many of us struggle with ongoing life hurts, hang-ups, habits and outright addictions. Our Celebrate Recovery group is a Bible and faith-based addiction recovery group similar to AA that meets Tuesday nights at 7pm in total anonymity. It is strongly led and supported by Pastor Mark and Linda. This ministry is a true light to our east side community and NS even hosts court approved addiction and abuse recovery programs upon referral. Men's and Women's Ministries The spiritual needs of men and women are vastly different and New Song has many discipleship and interest groups to meet those needs. Contact our office for a list of potential groups along with times, leaders and locations. A Small Group coach will guide you to several possible groups. Leadership Development New Song believes in developing and empowering leaders throughout the church. Those with a leadership interests can meet with the pastors monthly for our Great Commission Leadership Institute (GCLI). In the GCLI, key doctrines, values and ministry issues are taught and discussed. Contact Pastor John for a schedule or more information. The Forum The Forum is our intense adult Bible Study which systematically goes through scriptures in detail. Whole books of the Bible are targeted with study guides emailed prior to the study. It is led by Paul Marshall who holds Master's Degrees in Ancient History and Library Science and it generally meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 7-9pm. High School and Middle School The Junior and High School years are critical to a person's spiritual and mental development. That is why every Wednesday night from 7pm-8:30pm New Song has a dynamic youth group led by pastors, parents and young adults. The night starts with live worship, includes a special teaching and then small group discussion. Contact Pastor Chris for more information. Young Adults Twenty to thirty year olds at New Song enjoy a vibrant young adult ministry that primarily meets on Friday nights at 7:30pm at OSU main campus with other GCC churches.
